The Champaign Federation of Teachers (CFT) filed a Notice of Intent to Strike on November 15, 2018. By law, the earliest school day the teachers could strike is Monday, November 26, 2018. On or after this date, the teachers could choose to strike at any time, without any further notice.

Schools of Choice office has moved to Mellon Building as of November 7

Effective Wednesday, November 7, the Schools of Choice office has moved from 402 N. Randolph Street to its new location at the Mellon Administrative Center, 703 S. New Street, Champaign. 

Hours at the new location will remain 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. Contact information will remain (217) 351-3701 and u4fic@u4sd.org.

Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) releases new designations and 2018 Report Card

On October 31, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released designations for every school in the state as part of a new evaluation system. The designations provide a public benchmark of each school’s progress toward the goal of preparing all students for success in college and careers. The state’s new support and accountability system evaluates schools based on a fuller picture of school quality, including the performance of individual student groups and measures beyond test scores. Designations include: exemplary, commendable, underperforming and lowest performing.

District accepting bids for 1976 Chevrolet Corvette

Champaign Unit 4 School District is accepting sealed bids for the sale of one used 1976 Chevrolet Corvette. Vehicle is sold as is. Bidder may view the vehicle at Central High School located at 610 W. University Ave between 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17. Vehicle will be outside the shop classroom located on W. Park Ave. Questions can be asked in person at this time.
