These drills are IMPORTANT and EVERYONE needs to follow the 3R Expectations during the drill!!

LGBT History Fact of the Day: The Stonewall Riots began on June 28th, 1969. There were riots after New York police raided a LGBTQ+ club which lead to the formation of the Gay Liberation Front. The riot started with Marsha P. Johnson, a trans woman of color who was in the Stonewall Club.

8th Grade (Varsity): Oct 30, 31 and Nov 1 from 3-430pm in Room 201

6th/7th Grade (Junior Varsity): Nov 6, 7 and 8 from 3-430pm in Room 201

- Come dressed and ready to work

- Have a ride ready at 430pm PROMPTLY (if your ride isn't on time you are unable to come to the rest of tryouts)

- YES, you have to attend all 3 days in order to tryout

If you are interested in taking the AMC 8 Math Assessment, please sign up on the sheet outside of Mrs. Sanders' back door, across from Ms. Foley's classroom. There are only 5 slots left! The test will be held on Tuesday, November 14th at 3:00 p.m. Location is Room 201. Please arrange for transportation after the assessment. Good luck!


Science Olympiad tryouts will be held after school on Friday November 3rd from 3-4pm in Rm 218. Please bring a writing utensil.


Pennies for Puerto Rico~ We are gathering money to help out families in Puerto Rico who are in need of help! You can put in spare change, bills but anything helps. We need a lot of money to support these families affected by Hurricane Maria. All students, teachers, and staff will be raising money for this event.  till November 1st. In your classes, you will find a donation place to put your money in like a jug, jar or whatever your teacher as set aside to collect money. Let's raise as much as we can to help support this effort to contribute to Puerto Rico.


U of I Principal's Scholars Program is taking Fall registration.  Their focus is on preparing students for success in Math/Science courses.  There is a middle level class for 6th, 7th and 8th grade each has a different theme.  Please see your grade level counselor for applications in R. 111



Calling all poetic artists. If you like to write poetry, lyrics/raps, or have a poetic heart and want to learn how to express it… Join the poetic knights every other Thursday starting Nov. 2nd from 3-4:15ish. We will have our meetings in Rm. 110, and if you have any questions or concerns, contact Ms. Lloyd, or Mr. McCallum.


Student Council starts Monday, October 30th in Ms. Wise's room (107) from 3-4. If you are interested in being a leader at Franklin by organizing and planning school activities, then come hang out to hear more about it! All are welcome.
